Anybody watch this? I just watched the first two episodes on HBO on demand. Its pretty cool so far, just not real sure where they're going with it. Opinions.....

last night was the premiere. If you have HBO on demand the second episode is already up.

I liked it. Looks like it will be pretty awesome.

So seeing the previews for that show I had no idea what it was supposed to be about...am I to understand watching the episodes won't help with that? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Maybe a little bit of a spoiler, but not definite......

I was thinking that it was going to be about some miraculous healing powers that come into this family and that shaun kid would live, but I checked imdb and he's not one of the characters listed for the show, so I'm pretty sure that was his last episode.

^^It's from the Jim Rome show. There was a caller that wanted to predict the score of the Ohio State-Michigan game, and he predicted the score to be 27-27, not choosing a winner I guess because he figured the game would be closely contested or to be funny.

i watched it. i thought it was terrible. the son of the junkie looked like and elf-child, and was very annoying. al bundy's character was just nutty. john was annoying, not funny, and not cool in any way. i guess he's an alien or something. not to mention dylan was in it too. i will probably give it one more chance, but i doubt its gonna make it

i think the show has major potential... i'm enjoying it a lot anyway

the one writer of the show, David Milch, has some pretty major credentials... got his MFA from the writer's workshop at University of Iowa, worked with Robert Penn Warren... we'll see how it goes

I saw the first episode. It better pick up tonight. HBO is losing some serious quality with Rome, Deadwood, and Sopranos gone.

so far ive like both episodes. and i plan on watching it again. I didnt completely understand the first episode till i watched it a second time. Its one oif those shows where you need to watch it at least twice to get all the subtle undertones

alright... so when john made that chick see god, what the hell was going on there? she saw butchie score a bag, those guys from the hotel spill their soup, the guy in the army fatigues grab his knee like he was having a cramp, and then she saw butchie shooting up and feeling like his head was on fire

i have no fucking clue what's going on... but it has me wanting to know more

I am also wondering what the hell happened there. It seems like all the people in the "vision" had some piece of metal that got hot. Butchie's head, the hotel guys crucifix, the vietnam vets leg which presumably has shrapnel, and the chick's nipple rings. But still, what the hell happened.

Shawnie is terrible but he can get away with being a surfer kid. There are plenty of teenagers that are monotone or lack any expression

pretty interesting series so far. any hunches as to what's going on?

armageddon w/john supposedly being the second coming? although at the end of the episode when he said "see god kai" for the last time they just showed shawn skateboarding.

i'll definitely keep watching. hopefully it doesn't get canceled before whatever storyline they're setting up is revealed.

heres a theory, I just watched it again, and this is the montage that confuses everything

-Kai is getting ready to do it with John
-John says, "see God Kai"
-Kai's eyes roll to the back of her head and she passes out
-The shot becomes Fuzzy as Butchie scores some drugs
-Butchie is about to shoot up, then he pulls the needle out and grabs his head
-The veitnam vet grabs his leg (Probably shrapnal(SP?))
-Ramon's crusifix begins to burn him, he drops the soup
-Kai wakes up and says her peircings are burning, then says "If thats what God is like, she doesnt want to see him

The results are Butchie doesn't shoot up, and decides to go home, and John doesnt score with Kia

The only relation I can see is the relationship between good and evil in relation to a deity

Butchies Implants are in his almost like Horns
Butchie is about to shoot up, but then doesnt because the needle gets hot
The crusifix is obvious
Kai about to have sex with John could be construded as "evil"
The veterans leg could be anything hes done

Also, all of these people have physically touched John (except maybe ramon

and then towards the end Luke Perry's character Says, "Jesus Christ" the shot then focuses on John

John says, see god kai, and shot goes to Shawn flying through the air with an omniscient light on him

so i dont know if any of this means anything, but John from Cincinnati and Jesus Christ

I think you see where I'm going with this

Also, John caused the Earth Quake in the 2nd episode

I about turned it off mid 3rd episode. They just aren't doing enough for me to get hooked. The first 2 were good because I thought they were going somewhere but then they just go back to nonsensical arguing between the parents.

well i think the argueiing is going to drive the parents apart till they about cheat on each other, the mom with Luke Perry's character and Mitch with that blonde chick, but then some crazy (probably caused by john) is going to happen and bring them back together
