if that's true they'd be gone.

fruit flies only live a couple of days, and if there's no food source, there's nowhere to breed.

We'd store our trash outside if we didn't live in an apt complex. Meh maybe we could put it on the porch. Start throwing more food down the disposal.

Damn things.

it takes a week or so for fruit fly larvae to become flies... so maybe you should take your trash out more often.

yeah get rid of your trash and maybe clean your place up. Afterall those fruit flies are spawning in some organic source. So if you tidied up even once a week there is no reason they should be there. I know b.c i used to keep a messy room fresh/soph year and after a week of leaving something "old" or dirty out the flies came back

I do clean at least once a week but we used to be really bad about leaving plates out and stuff, we've been getting better. The trash is easy to stall on because you have to drive to the dumpster to toss it and we usually forget when we're on our way out the door. I guess we need to get a sealed container for the cat and dog food, wrapping the bags up doesn't seem to help.

They're even in the kitty litter. It's disgusting. we clean that every couple of days because we have two cats.

We never have more than one bag of trash that needs to go out. When the bag gets fullw e toss it obviously, before that time though all sorts of delicious nasties get tossed in there hence me stating we should put more down the disposal. You can't toss corn husks and such down the drain however.

You don't take your trash out, and you can't figure out why you have fruit flies?

No.

But then again, I take out the trash every other day as I use grocery store plastic bags, and not use special bags which can hold 3 million liters.

Use small bags.

Don't leave food outside.

Don't leave dishes unwashed.

If wet rubbish, dispose off right away.

Exercise common sense and your 5 senses.

If it needs it. I'm sure as hell not going to sit there with a smelly or gnat-infested house.

How did you get into college?
