There was a Ghosbusters 3 script that was based on the idea of "What if Hell was full?", as well as the idea of the original Ghostbusters getting a little older (this was around 1999, 15 years after the original) and hiring some younger guys, one of whom would be Chris Farley. Unfortunately, Farley's death pretty much killed it for the time being.

When I did a search for the above, I ran across the fact that Dan Aykroyd has said G3 is still in the works, but as a completely CGI film, but everyone will be back to voice their characters...not sure how I feel about that, but more Ghostbusters > no more Ghostbusters.

The X-Files 2: we need a better ending to a great series than that shitty flashback finale gave us.
Serenity 2: greatest sci-fi movie of all-time deserves a sequel.
Veronica Mars: also needs an ending, and a theatrical movie would be much better than giving it to us in comic book form as has been rumored.

Spaceballs 2 was SUPPOSED to come out around the time of Star Wars 3, but it didn't. Now Mel Brooks is apparently talking about making an animated series out of it instead.

I did a quick google to see if THAT was still in the mix, and apparently it will debut this fall. booooooooo...I want a movie.

Definitely, and it needs to be a standalone movie not tied into the conspiracy arch. If people will go to these stupid horror movies, the X-files should be able to draw a good crowd because they always did the straight-up monster episodes so well.

Wishful thinking at this point, sadly. Thomas Jane backed out of Punisher 2 last month because he said that he had lost faith in the project. It's been spinning wheels for over 2 years now, and nothing has happened yet. At this point, I'd be surprised if another actor is brought in.
