Prague, Czech Republic!
Very cheap place to live, eat and drink. Also an awesome historical city with some of the best architecture in Europe. They just got free of Communism in 89' so it's still a developing country in terms of culture and a really awesome place to meet the youth that are starting to build that culture.
Just for referance. 20 crowns equals roughtly 1 dollar. Cheapish hotel = 600 crowns a night Typical meal = 100 crowns (including drink) Beer (1/2 liter) = 20 crowns! (and it's some of the best beer in Europe)
Grocery shopping is even cheaper where you can get bread for like 5 cents.
The biggest thing that bothered me is the water. It's safe to drink from the tap but to get water at a restraunt it's more expensive than beer. So is juice, soda, etc. Alcoholic drinks are usually cheap. Like $3 there for a nice mixed drink compared to $8 here.
I lived there for about 4 months so you should PM me if you want to know more! 6/27/2007 9:11:43 PM |

^ I second this. I traveled Europe 2 years ago and Prague was my favorite and the easiest on my wallet.
Oh and China is extremely cheap except for the plane ticket. I would actually recommend it over anywhere I went in Europe. The greatest thing about China is the adventure you will experience while your there along with the fascinating culture.

Prague sounds good. I'd like to do a little more research on it.
Also, for this thread, it would be great if flight details or costs could be added too.

I have been to 5 of these, and would recommend them all. Praha is a great place and cheap. I want to go the Thailand, but the flight is a bit high. You can go south pretty cheap. All of it would be fun though.6/28/2007 12:03:21 PM |
