didn't see a thread on this one. apparently ben gates is now trying to unravel the conspiracy behind lincoln's assassination, by trying to find missing pages from john wilkes booth's diary. i liked the first one, and the trailer doesn't look too bad

The first one kind of sucked, but I really liked the phrase "Johnny Raincloud" and that's the first time I heard it, so it has some redeeming qualities. 7/1/2007 12:00:18 AM |

i liked the first one, and look forward to this one
ill admit its a little annoying that they knew exactly what everything in ye olde american trickery was trying to tell them though
they could have struggled a little more, but i know it wouldnt have been a movie if they just failed miserably throughout 7/1/2007 12:16:30 AM |

I loved the first one. It was so over-the-top and ridiculous that I could enjoy it. 7/1/2007 12:46:26 AM |

I'm not really trying to bust your balls with this, but your comment just reminded me of something that annoys the shit out of me, and that is when people make a broad generalization and automatically like anything that fits into it. This goes for music probably even moreso than movies. Like "I love anything with sword fighting in it" or "I love anything with violins".7/1/2007 1:35:33 AM |

At first I didn't think I was going to like the first one, and for the first five minutes I was thinking "this is just some movie about Illuminati conspiracy theories." But then I sat through the rest of the movie and was very impressed by what was done. Good pacing, good mix of suspense and action, and I thought it was a nice touch that the antagonist wasn't some generic, mustache-twirling "I'm evil for the sake of being evil" bad guy. 7/1/2007 2:26:46 AM |

well, american history is a genre while sword fighting and violins are just elements that can be found in a lot of movies. i guess i should clarify that i like histories mysteries, and if someone comes up with a story that has that and keeps me entertained, i'm happy. i'm not really snobby when it comes to movies, so if its mindless fun then i'm set7/1/2007 12:28:33 PM |

I really liked the first one, however since it's a sequel, my hopes aren't too high, I'll go see it though 7/1/2007 1:40:22 PM |

i saw the first one on cable...and enjoyed it, especially riley's dialogues..."not to be johnny raincloud" and "noodge(nudge)" ...of course there were loopholes and stuff...but i won't mind a second one, if only to hear some witty dialogues from mr poole 7/2/2007 2:50:08 PM |

I enjoyed the first one alot. I am looking fwd to the sequel. It was not like I was going into the movie to get a history lesson, or to find the hidden secrets of the origins of America. The entertainment factor and logical reasoning gave it a good pace.
I am not doubting that the second cannot be any better.

I hope it ends just like Temple of Doom, and they make another one and it ends just like Last Crusade. 7/2/2007 3:46:22 PM |
