Libby probably knows so much they didn't have any other choice but to let him out. 7/2/2007 7:09:00 PM |

Let's see...
Clinton completely pardoned:
- 16 members of Puerto Rico FALN terrorist group. - Drug trafficker Carlos Vignali. - Fugitive Marc Rich: Iraqi oil-for-food kickback middleman and tax evader. - Susan McDougal: who refused to testify against him. - Dan Rostenkowski: Convicted Corrupt congressman who helped push through Clinton's tax increases. - Melvin Reynolds: Convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, bank fraud and obstruction of justice. - Roger Clinton: His half-brother on drug charges.
Lame-duck presidents are notorious for controversal pardons. 7/3/2007 12:16:22 AM |

Those may or may not be true, I wonder where you copied and posted that from. But that makes no bearing on this case. Two wrongs don't make a right.7/3/2007 10:35:56 AM |

You missed my point, I think. I'm not trying to make a right from two wrongs....I'm saying:
Quote : | "Lame-duck presidents are notorious for controversal pardons." |
More Clinton: pardoned rep. Mel Reynolds who was convicted of having sex with 1 16 year old campaign worker. Also pornography and bank fraud. Henry Cisneros: Clinton's HUD secretary, convicted for lying to the FBI.
George HW Bush: Pardoned two of the Iran-Contra participants.
Jimmy Carter pardoned: - All the Vietnam Draft Dodgers. - Peter of Peter Paul & Mary after he served 3 months of a 3 year prison sentence for making sexual advances on a 14 year girl in his hotel room.
Prepare yourselves for Bush's bevy of pardons as he leaves office. He may pardon Cheney and Gonzales proactively.
Make sure you spread your outrage around evenly. 7/3/2007 1:01:45 PM |

He was a fall guy in the first place. Not that he's innocent but I'd bet there were a few people that played a bigger role in it than he did. 7/3/2007 2:41:15 PM |

1) i don't know why anyone is surprised by this. 2) president has every right to do so. ford pardoned nixon. 3) libby going to jail doesn't hold anyone accountable, not even him really. why isn't fitz investigating the white house? that's what is really important here 7/3/2007 5:00:38 PM |

ok, well how nice of the President to decide that for everybody. We should just send all federal court cases stright to him to decide now. It would save a lot of time and money to just bypass judge and jury system.
of course, now the President is available to spend his time searching for the "real perpetrator", right? You know, kind of like O.J. looking for the real killer. 7/3/2007 7:31:55 PM |

Strange, not sure what the deal is with the links on that site. You gotta scroll down the page a little to see the part about Olbermann. And the direct link there works. Not sure why copy and paste doesn't. 7/4/2007 2:21:52 PM |

DUKE, we need to lock this thread, please.
the discussion of Libby's trial, predictions of pardons, the guilty verdict, subsequent appeals, and the latest commutation have been going on for quite some time right here:
message_topic.aspx?topic=464986&page=4
not only has the above-mentioned thread been going on for quite some time, it also doesnt have a completely retarded and meaningless title.
thanks 7/4/2007 2:58:05 PM |
