A friend of mine has a son that needs like a big brother type mentaur. Does anybody have an idea of a place that they could find someone to help. (the Big Brother program has a waiting list of years and the kid is too old now they said). The kid is 16 and pretty socially awkward, but a good kid. He's really into computers and history. There is no guy in his life to help out and I thought maybe this would be an ok spot to ask.

Just tell him to stop being into those 2 things. Problem solved.

No I can't do it because I am leaving Raleigh for a job.
I was asking where he can go, not for volunteers.

If that's the problem you're looking to solve, then TWW is the last place you want to look for a solution. That's like saying: "The girl is 16 and really slutty. Paris Hilton, can you tell me where I can find a good mentor to help her change her ways?"

There are plenty of TWWers that aren't socially awkward.

A lot of churches have mentor programs specifically for teens. A lot of high schools will offer something like that as well. My first suggestion is a church, unless he's especially against it.
