Many boxers would get beat in MMA matches and many MMA fighters would get beat in boxing matches
Controversial? Or pretty much true... 7/12/2007 2:57:03 PM |

^^ah damn, i did a mma search not ufc....o well
well i know of the ufc show, and the tapout crew show (which can be lame at times).....that dude with the facepaint gets on my nerves
^true....but honestly mma fighters would stand a better chance in boxing than boxers would in mma.....in mma, at least they have some developed stand up game, whereas boxing, they have no ground training

i agree that by and large most boxers have ZERO ground game and most MMAers (even the grappling and wrestling specialists) has SOME stand up game
but still...the majority of MMA guys dont have near the standup game as a boxer who ONLY trains on 'stand up game'
but again...i like them both...i like boxing more but i have much respect for MMA fighters...they're almost different sports...I think MMA is more realistic street fighting and boxing is more of an art7/12/2007 3:02:26 PM |

o i agree...i was just sayin a typical mma fighter would last longer in a boxing match, whereas a typical boxer would get submitted within the first round of an a mma fight
speaking of art....boxing is an art, but there is an art to mma as well (not counting the meaning of the A in the acronym)....barring dq, how many ways have you seen a boxer lose? knockout, TKO, decision....
there is a myriad of ways for someone to lose in mma, which adds to its status as an art.....example, in the last ufc event, chris lytle submitted jason gillam while having BOTH a triangle choke and an arm bar
not to knock boxing, i'm just supporting mma 7/12/2007 3:11:54 PM |

what we need is no-holds barred mma. basically biting, low blows, and every other dirty move are not only allowed, but encouraged 7/12/2007 7:26:38 PM |
