I thought I had a S-video hookup on my desktop, but I dont, so I was wondering how else I might go about getting the hookup from my computer to my tv. Thanks.

If your TV has an HDMI or DVI port, it will work.

unless the tv requires HDCP in which case it wont work.

go get either a converter box from vga to svideo, or jsut buy a new video card/secondary video card with svideo out.
