I want to know if there are any online users who bought laptops from online vendors between $100 and $300 that were not crappy. I want to know if it is normal to find a high quality laptop between $100 and $300 dollars that works properly , the kind a laptop you would buy normally between $600 and $1000 .

do not buy used online (except ebay or some other reputable website).

buy local, or pony up the $350-$400 or so and get a brand new one instead of some used crap.

Asus is looking to release the EE sometime in august. It'll be between 200 and 300 dollars, but it's basically an ultra-portable laptop. 7inch screen, but lots of features.

Ive gotten several working laptops off ebay for under 300, most were under 200 and worked fine for internet surfing, email and so on.
