Plot Outline for I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry
Quote :
"Two straight, single Brooklyn firefighters (Sandler, James) pretend to be a gay couple in order to receive domestic partner benefits."

So, 2 hours of jokes about being gay? HIIIIIIILARIOUS! I'm sure gays all around the world are celebrating this progressive movement in film.

Let's not forget the brilliant Blades of Glory that released in March.

He's pretedning to be gay in order to take care of his kids.

Like all recent Adam Sandler films its going to be an hour of sub-par humor, followed by 30 minutes of seriousness where the guy realizes how much he loves his kids, theres a moral lesson, blah blah blah. Thats when the movie ends and everyone walks out disappointed.

Just like Click, 50 First Dates, Spanglish, Anger Management, and Punch Drunk Love.

Homeboy needs to wise up and go back to make movies where he talks funny.

i'm sure the whole movie has a pro-gay marriage message, so any gay jokes that it cracks will probably be offset by higher public opinion of gays and gay marriage?

okay. i'm going to call shennanigans on that one. punch-drunk love isn't like any of sandler's movie, nor could it reasonably be called a "comedy"

i'm gonna go with no. i mean it's a black comedy in as much as any of pt anderson's other movies movies are black comedies (which isn't much). the only reason anyone immediately assume comedy with this is because adam sandler is in it. the movie is not much of a comedy.

most queers have thick skin about people making fun of them.

Plus, who cares?

Why wasn't anyone offended by this? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0381707/

actually, it was pretty funny...I went in with typically Sandler movie expectations and was pleasantly surprised...

and no one will complain about being offended because no one can say they were being discriminatory, seeing as how they tried to take a swipe at just about everyone

plot outline for The Bridcage
Quote :
"A gay cabaret owner and his drag queen companion agree to put up a false straight front so that their son can introduce them to his fiancé's right-wing moralistic parents."

So, 2 hours of jokes about being straight? HIIIIIIILARIOUS! I'm sure straights all around the world are celebrating this progressive movement in film.

its educating people for the need for the nationwide legalization of gay marriage for the very reason why they're getting hitched. what if your wife died and she was the breadwinner, but you couldn't touch her financial assets because nobody recognized your union? sucks.

its a right everyone should have.
