Moving back to NJ. Need someone to take over my lease (the lease is up in March, but you could always renew it!) at my Kensington Park apartment I have a (2nd floor) 2bdrm 1bathroom 1,090sqft apartment on Avent Ferry off Gorman/Western. I pay $560/mth (+water and electric) or $280/person if you're getting a roommate. Pets friendly! they have a pool and a fitness center and a tennis court. I just had my carpets cleaned this past month.
My hallway is painted blue, my living room has one red wall with a mural painted on it. My dining room is painted black/white, and my spare bedroom is painted lime green. I'm looking for someone to take over the lease without me having to paint these things back (dont bitch at me about it. either you're interested or you're not).

so i'm guessing if someone takes up the lease they will have to paint the walls white or be charged for painting the walls?
and you dont have to pay the water here 7/20/2007 9:38:25 PM |

^why would i tell someone they had to pay water, if they really dont? depending on which apartment you get you may or may not have to pay water. i do. you can get the 990sqft 2bdrm place for I think $20 or so more a month with water included, or you can get the 1090sqft 2bdrm place for less money, and you pay your own water.

must be something they changed after i moved in(they never mentioned that EVER)...i moved in 3 days before trinity properties took it over(january 1st)- they also raised rates about 25 dollars a month once they took over, so i guess making some policy such as paying water and having lower rent is not totally out of the question
but i'm just curious if the person that takes over your lease has to paint the walls back the way they were(pay money out of pocket for something you did) or have the apartment take money from their deposit to paint the walls back themselves(either way they are losing their money for something you did)
If there is some aspect I am missing(other than someone paying for something you did), please feel free to correct me. I hope you answer that question, not only because I want to know, but for those that may be interested in taking over your lease] 7/22/2007 3:08:17 AM |

^they dont have to pay the deposit. I'm keeping my deposit on there (Because of the painted walls), and when they move out, if they want to get back my deposit to put in their pocket, they can paint the walls back...and if they choose not to paint the walls back, then it'll just get taken from the deposit that I paid for. Sorry for leaving that part out 7/22/2007 3:34:12 PM |

^idk when im leaving.its still up in the air. yes, i did that mural myself. i had/have too much free time on my hands lol. i actually posted a couple ads on CL for doing murals for people. suprisingly, people were interested but i ended up backing out. its a lot of pressure doing a mural for someone whos paying you good money, but what if they end up not liking your style or the job? 7/23/2007 12:11:36 AM |

how much were they going to pay you?
maybe if you sketched out what u were going to paint first so they'd know what they were getting...that way they'd definitely know that they were going to like it, it'd be less pressure?
but at least its not like a tattoo or anything, they could always paint back over it haha!

$35/hr with a $400 minimum. It ended up not even being worth it to me, since I have real bad arthritis in both wrists...it hurts way more than the money even being worth it. ...i think that sentence made sense? haha. i dont know. 7/23/2007 12:18:58 AM |
