MGS' cutscenes have very little CGI video. Most of the cinemas are rendered in real-time.

Maybe I'm turning into an old fart.

But those screenshots do not look like anything special.

Just more of the plastic, snake-skin textures with over exaggerated lighting and bump maps to make up for the fact that none of these "next gen" consoles can do much more than pump polygons.

Or maybe it's because I've been spoiled by raytracing for two years now, either way the graphics look dull as hell.

I'm sure a lot of that is PR speak, and even if not, it's not like they had a problem with releasing MGS on mulitple discs. No, this is exclusive to the PS3 for the same reason GTAIV and DMC4 aren't, someone paid for it.
