If you guys keep everyone at work away from this site, you won't get as many hits on the banners.

think about it

I don't want GIRLS KISSING and LOOK AT SEXY JESSICA SIMPSON PHOTO SHOOT popping up while I'm at work.

you have to tell your boss that you are switching from IE to firefox - do you ask permission to flush too?

i would have to at my work. only admins can install software on our computers, so you would have to get permission to insall something like firefox and have someone do it for you.

^ i was wondering the same thing. i couldnt tolerate that. i have to install crap on a regular basis. various software tools, drivers, etc... well, a lot of times I dont "have" to ... but I want to. whatever.

the one place i worked that tried to do internal security, I made the IT guy give me the admin login/password so i could install shit without bugging him, then i just changed permissions for my regular login.

I also got onto the private LAN so I could avoid the firewall. which made it real interesting when i installed Ethereal and ran it on the private LAN

i install lots of stuff on my system - not for my own amusement, but as tools to solve problems (for example: perl)

i can only imagine trying to explain to your average geeksquad sysadmin why you need pearls in your computer

a government contractor. our security policies are more stringent then most commerical companies. maybe i wasnt super clear, because its not like we can't install anything. we have a long list of approved applications that we can install any time we want through an internal download portal. and i do have admin rights on a lab computer for installing drivers/evaulation board software/etc. but for my normal "desk" work, i have all the applications i need. theres only been one instance in the past 3 years that ive had to request a non-approved application. all i did was call our help desk, and they remotely logged it and installed it....not too terribly inconvinient.

i can't say im a big fan of it, but i do understand why....it could be worse. in our "closed" areas (where you have to have security clearance to get in) its MUCH more restricted. you can't even bring non-commerically produced CDs in there.

Any place that is HIPAA compliant.

Now, on to the topic at hand. Yesterday while posting on TWW at work, I saw a banner that had a naked girl on it. Not a girl in revealing clothing or two girls kissing, but a genuine naked girl... and with her T & A exposed to boot. Joe, CrazyJ, please do something about that.
