some kind of horrid spyware shit has invaded my fucking computer, i'm pissed.

currently no desktop picture is displayed just white, can't change it, the tab that controls the desktop picture is essentially frozen. i get pop ups (i hate IE) and lately this Magicantispy shit has been popping up....

I'm at my wits end, i think this week will be a process of dling updates/patches copying stuff over then reformatting.....

For those who don't know, If you have any infection at all, always run antivirus/antispyware scans in safe mode."

Sounds like SpySheriff. Had a client's computer that was like that once... background tab locked down was the telltale sign. You can google it... there are a few registry keys you have to modify/delete, but that usually takes care of it.

Oh yeah, make sure you run the spyware scans, too. Good luck.

i think i might have cleaned it out.... ill have to check when i get back from work today (more scans)

but i agree Noen, I might just be going back on a restore point..... before any of this shit happened

what's the default interval for system restore? (i've had it off the last few weeks since i got this shit to keep it from hanging around any longer than possible

I do not get it - I have never once installed any kind of anti-spyware, and yet I still have never had a single virus or spyware infection.

Do I just not go to the wrong sites, or am I lucky?
