No, I just hate self-indulgent guitar solos.
"You Really Got Me" is a two chord song (not counting the key change). Dave's solo, basically three double-stops repeated, fits it perfectly. It's a solo that serves the song.
EVH's solo isn't bad, but he's put a big, wacky solo into the same two chord song. If the arrangement was changed, it might make more sense, but it's just the same figure under his tone, and it doesn't fit.7/26/2007 8:38:15 PM |
