Ideas/Suggestions? Seems they stick the coax connections in the worst possible fucking places. I need to run this thing along a wall, over a door, hang a right and along another wall. I'd rather not have the cable just lying on the floor....the way it is at my current apartment.

I'm now sure how much of a good idea hollowing out the baseboards would be, especially since it needs to go around a door as well.

Should I just deal with it or are there some other ways I could go about dealing with it? I don't mind spending a little cash for some cable hiding hardware if need be.

To make it so people don't die when they walk by. Uh... Along the base of the wall, the most economical thing you could probably do is pay for a few small cord clips (the 3m command brand ones). Those should at least organize that crap pretty well. If you wanted to spend some money I'm sure you could buy some metal conduit from Lowes or the Home Depot that you could attach to the baseboard in some way (wall putty is cheap and paint is cheap too). That'd protect the cable and hide it pretty well from view. Use the cord concealer in the trafficway so it's harder to trip on, then where it's mostly out of sight (like behind a couch or something) use the cord clips to finish the job.

That's my idea. I think it sucks. What do you think?

I just run the cords along the corner of the wall where it meets the floor and cover it with masking tape. It hasn't given me any problems and doesn't really stick out.

also, I put a 90 degree connector on the coax cable, so that it sticks right against the wall.

I'm seriously OCD about this kind of stuff. In my current full theater setup, the wiring job required 89 cable ties.

^ haha, wow. Yea, I think I'm going to wind up going that route. May even try some ultra thin coax....anyone ever used that...had any problems with it?

Never tried it, but I would already say don't do it - especially if you've got digital cable (and ESPECIALLY if you've got HD). Anything less than RG-6 has been terrible, in my experience. Stick with the good, thick, shielded stuff, as inconvenient as it is.
