what is it? I want to stream some video from my home server, but it's SOOOO laggy. I have the standard cable modem service.

however they detect that is crap. they called me up and said that i was uploading (at that exact time) more than i was allowed. at the time my router was broken, so no computers were even hooked up to our internet.

yeah, i thought that it was around 40, which is TERRIBLE IMHO. I can't believe that the internet in the US hasn't gotten much better since i graduated HS in 2000. I mean, people had the same speed internet back then, progress? Yes, more people have broadband now, but damn.

Where's my 60Gb/s connection?

It's not a limit on technology ... it's a limit imposed to make you pay more for the "business class" service where they increase your upload bandwidth.

That and keeps lots of filesharing in check, download speeds have increased a few times IIRC but not upload.

Yeah that's around 48kBps. Upload sucks everywhere. Isn't it like 50-60% of all internet bandwidth goes towards p2p sharing?
