I got a jawbone a couple weeks ago and I like it alot. Sometimes it seems kinda quiet but I think thats more of a combo of the person talking really quietly and me having bad hearing.

jawbone is $100, and looks huge...but its supposed to be the best one on the market (has background noise cancellation)

i just got a Jabra BT5010 and its the best I've had so far. its a little big, but theres minimal background noise which is what i was looking for.

I had bought a Motorola H670 this morning on an impulse and all day everyone has been like "WHAT?!?!?" so I am thinking its not the one for me. Too bad because that USB charge port would have worked with my car chargers and all cell phone chargers.

i bought the x8 and it had a lot of background noise...so i sold it and got a jabra. i dont know if the x3 is better than the x8 in that category.

i've got the jawbone, and its awesome for noise cancellation. It comes with various earpieces and two different sized earloops for the left and right ear, so you can mix and match till you find out what fits best for you.

^^I really hope thats a joke, because I would hope you are smart enough to realize that, YES, people with BTHS get laughed at on a daily basis, and made fun of, and joked about. They are that fucking bad. Just use a cell phone normally like every one else. Its ok to use them maybe, if: You ride in a car a lot, and only use it in the car. You are so important, you are on the cell over 5 hours a day, you are a sports agent who is ALWAYS on their phone, etc. And guess what. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY on TWW warrants using a BTHS. And yes, I gave it its own acronym. Thats how anoying the shit is.


I will even give you this.....it could be okay to use a BTHS when you get a call. Put the shit on your ear, talk, then when its done, put the thing back in your pocket. There is NO reason, and I mean NO reason to just walk around with that shit on your ear like you are some hot shit. Because guess what, nobody on TWW who does it like that is. Its a cell phone, use it like one.

I think it looks stupid to wear them all the time, but I see no problem with using them while on the phone. It just makes it so much easier to talk on the phone and do other things (ie, make food, do laundry, do work, drive, etc) when your hands are both free. I hate cradling the phone in my shoulder/neck, which is near impossible with a thin phone anyway.

And then there's the whole fact that you can hear someone BETTER with a headset, and because it's in your ear nobody else can listen in if you don't want them to. Then there's the Jawbone, which actually makes it easier for the people on the receiving end of your phone call to hear your voice. Apart from looking like a tool wearing the headset 24/7, I don't see any problem with actually USING a headset when you have a call.

I have a jawbone and its alright. I only use it in the car especially since I have a convertible (I always leave it in the car, except to bring it in to charge). It could stand to be a bit louder is my only complaint. If I have the top down I still have problems hearing people, but I'm beginning to think it really wouldn't matter what headset I have, there's just no combating that much noise depending on how fast I'm going.

people always hear me just fine though.

hehehe well, i've never had a bluetooth headset before since i've never had a phone that had bluetooth......

but i do have the same observations, primarily when i see someone carrying it around all the time even when not in use, my first reaction was thinking they were pretentious....also it annoys the heck outta me when they're talking and i think they're talking to me, then i notice the headset in their ear

got mine for $30 after shipping from some website i found on froogle...had it for over a year and love it...after a year, though, the ear hook has gotten really loose, but since they include a second one, it's not a big deal...additionally, if you contact the company for anything (i told them i wanted an additional USB charger to keep in my car), they'll send you the part for free

blueant is a great company with quality products and high value IMO

honestly can't say. I think part of the problem I have is my ear shape. all of the little ear pieces that you can use don't really fit well enough into my ear for my taste and make me think thats why I can't hear that well. I'd suggest trying it out if you can (not sure if they'll go and let you test sticking the things in your ear or not).

if the purpose of a bluetooth is for handsfree talking (which it should be) then yes, its retarded.

If you're using it just so you can look cool and "new school" while you use your phone as an mp3 player, sure its convenient, but then you look like a douche and is still retarded.

if you're genuinely using it so you can talk on your phone, but in the meantime use your phone as an mp3 player, while maybe not retarded, you probably still look like a douche.

reason why i'm asking is i was about to get a bt headset for my new phone...but then decided that i prob won't use it as much....but then realized i can get a stereo one and double as a headset to listen to music off my laptop and phone....

i'm just plain tired of anything with wires......there are already so many sticking out my computer and game console

go for it...i'm using a bluetooth 2.0+EDR set of headphones for use with my computer (bought the bluetooth adapter for $7 off ebay) and it's awesome...i really CAN get up and walk across the office and such while still listening to music

realize, though, that if you have an old(er) phone with bluetooth, it might be 1.1/1.2 and with the limited range and transmission rates, quality will be very dependent on the situation (or so i would assume...my current phone doesn't support stereo bluetooth, so i haven't bothered)

i want a bt stereo headset and was contemplating between the motorola s9, jabra 8010, and some lubix long ass name one.

i was leaning towards the lubix, not sure i like the wraparound the head look of the s9

i have "heard" for the most part that the jawbone has the best noise cancellation

You can adjust the volume by hitting the top (black) button while on a call, and also, your phone's volume control can increase the bluetooth's output volume.

The native volume for the Jawbone increase with a beep-BOOP sound five times until the max and it does a BOOP-BOOP sound to let you know it's at max volume. At that point it starts back at the lowest volume.

My bet is though, that you need to increase your phone's output volume to the bluetooth device.

yeah i have my phone volume and the jawbone volume jacked and still its sometimes not that loud, definitely not any louder than the actual phone, but I think its how the earpiece fits in my ear, I think my ears are weird.

i just gave up on talking on the phone while going at highway speed with the top down.

Ah, as far as that ... I found that if I lightly push the earpiece into my ear while trying to listen to a conversation it is easier to hear. I think they definitely need to have a proper ear-gel or something to create a more snug fit so that more external noise is blocked out and you can hear the person.

Otherwise, yea ... the active sound cancellation works perfect, everyone I talk to has no idea if I'm standing on the street with traffic, or driving in my car with the windows down, or standing next to an air-conditioner unit outside, etc. It's very nice.

1) I got the jawbone, I agree it's a little quiet to hear, but it's not too bad if you use the more pointed in-ear pieces (comes with like 5 different ones)

2) Everyone hears me great, even when I'm out on a construction site

3) I used to be of the "you look like a douche" mindset, until I tried it. It really is for convenience. If you wear it, you hear it ring in your ear, you answer it w/o getting your phone out-- you just touch the button on the earpiece (to answer/hangup) and go about your business. That being said I don't wear mine to hardees or whatever, but I'm a little slow to take it off sometimes if i've been in the truck for awhile or people have been calling, etc. Pretty much, I don't care what anyone thinks of me for wearing it, I just do it for convenience when the situation warrants it.
