i'm looking to buy an electric piano pretty soon and would like some advice on brand, model, and/or features i should look into. i want it to REALLY sound like a piano and to have touch sensitive keys. i'd like to keep it around or under $1000, but if need be i can save up more.

I just bought this one about a year ago: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7834579&type=product&productCategoryId=cat03109&id=1142296893376

I got it cheaper because I didn't get it from Best Buy, but it didn't come with a stand. (The BB one does).

It sounds about as close to a piano as you're going to get (I like to keep it on Grand Piano 2, I think it sounds better than Grand Piano 1). There are 88 full-sized keys. They are "hammer-action" keys which means they are weighted, and feel pretty close to an acoustic piano. There are multiple head phone jacks so more than one person can listen at once, or you can just let it play normally. It comes with a pedal as well. There are MIDI in-and-out connections so you can connect to the Internet and download your songs if you wanted. The ZPI tri-element sound is nice. It has programmed songs, but I don't really use that. It's not a bad deal for $600. IF you get it without the stand, you can knock about $200 off that price.

I see lots of people using Nord Electros these days, which also do really awesome organ sounds too. My favorite keyboards for piano sounds are the Yamaha P90 and Kurzweil SP88X.
