Now it all makes sense. Adam Gold just recently started to name 850 the Buzz as the Triangle's Sports Leaders in Radio. I remember the first time Adam used the term and Joe Ovies asked him about using the term unless he had something to prove but Adam never responded to him on air during their morning show.

I assume 850 the Buzz caught wind of this made sure to try establish themselves as the dominant Sports Radio provider in the area.

but they arent..they suck. Adam Gold's show is awful. All they do is argue, that Terry Tuff guy is a freaking moron, too many hands in the pot, and like I want to hear about politics and Michael Vick all day?

Also, they don't take callers (which is lame), and whenever Adam Gold does advertising it's the gayest shit ever. He's trying to act all svelte and slick about integrated the ad into conversation....i dunno, just makes me want to slap him with a big ass bruce lee fist through the AM dial.

JoeOvies and Rigsbee are the only ones worth salvaging and if there is a slot on 99.9, Joe should bolt like hotcakes.

Personally, it'll be interesting to see how many people tune into the new station. I was kind of hoping that Triangle Sports Talk would have lasted longer, but that ended. I wouldn't be suprised to see a personality from 850 jump, but I don't think it'll be Joe Ovies. I think if it's anybody, it'll be Chris Clark IMO, but I am not ruling out Ovies jumping esp. if the opportunity of being "the guy" is out there.

I also wouldn't be suprised if someone like a Taylor Zarzour leaves WPTF to join WCMC. I mean, it's possible. Will it happen? Who knows.

yes. I have been waiting for decent FM sports talk radio for a long time As far as adam gold goes, have you seen him in real life? He ALWAYS wears pink collared shirts along with that pale yankee chrome dome of his. I didnt think much of him for a long time but then I got to talking to him one day when he was doing his show at ruckus : he's actually an interesting and smart guy but his scripted show blows...

I listened to their morning show and it's awesome. Like finally, traditional 'brass tacks' sports talk discussion instead of all the potpourri bullshit on 850. I was impressed.

They talked ACC hoops, little NFL, college football.

I just wish their signal was stronger. I can't listen to it in my apartment, which is a bitch for Canes games that aren't on TV. When they were on 102.9 I could get it loud and clear.

I thought it was funny a couple weeks back before the Giants/Bucs game when some Giants fan called in saying that the Giants would beat the Bucs. Mike went off on him saying there was no chance the Bucs would lose - basically bashing the caller for even thinking the giants had a chance. Come monday after the game, Mike was talking about how great the Giants are and how they have a chance against the Cowboys.

Man you were up early this morning if you heard them. They called out packpride, Brent Road, etc. Basically calling out all us delusionial NC STATE fans and were asking why we weren't complaining more, because they believe we SHOULD. Basically made me realize how our players don't seem to care how we get a W as long as we get one we are happy, whereas other teams get a W and mention flaws. Said how embarassing it must be to wear red and white today. I agree.
