i figured Wake would go this route this year

wonder why they didnt go after any of the mid major coaches

It wouldn't surprise me if they did inquire about Grant and/or Miller. It's tough to say how this will turn out. A lot of people will be happy to see them keep it in the family.

this is probably safer for this season. who knows what big name will be available next year. this move also probably ensures the recruits stay.

I know Loyola has a poor program, but they are also in a bad conference. Skip took Loyola to a winning record and NCAA Tournament birth in his first year as HC. Gaudio came along not long after that and compiled a 32-52 record...

While the Big Four all have strong basketball traditions, historically only 3 programs have been particularly strong in any given period, as programs have had their ups and downs. I have to wonder if this hiring (along with State bringing in Lowe) signals an "up" period for NCSU as Wake has another downswing like the 80s.
