drake landing was a LOT of fun. No memberships, we had never gone before ever and they were all really cool about a bunch of non-gun girls who had no clue what they were doing.

Funny thing was the girls were kicking our asses by the end of the day, damn women.

But it was a pretty good course, lots of different setups and for my first time skeet shooting it was way better than I expected. We picked up a shitload of rounds from Dick's beforehand and rented shotguns there.

I love going to Deep River. I have never been to Drake Landing, but I would be up for going this weekend.

I've been looking for a non-membership place. But I was thinking more along the lines of, someone has a plot of land outside the city. I'll bring the clay, the throwers the ammo, a couple of buddies and we make an afternoon out of it.

You do not need a membershtp to shoot @ Deep River. Although it is alot cheaper if you do.

Buck Horn Gun Club in Mebane.

Its a little out there, but prices are more than reasonable.

Fort Bragg has a very nice facility and is open to the public. It is actually in Spring Lake between 210 and 87 so you don't even have to deal with getting on post.

I actually asked to have this bumped to see if anyone knew of a place in Greensboro that didnt require a membership and had their own guns.

I since found out about a place called Shane's that my father-in-law went to recently.

Whats the name of the place in Spring Lake though? When I go home to see family in Fayetteville that might be a cool thing to do.

Sort of off topic but Deep River has a pretty nice little five stand that's fun to shoot for practice or teaching people to shoot if you haven't got time to go through the whole course or aren't ready to.

I would also recommend Buckhorn. I live between Carrboro and Buckhorn, so it isn't a long drive at all for me (10 minutes or so). Might be worth checking out from Greensboro as it might only be about 30-40 minutes for you. Only complaint is that you need to take cash as they don't take any other forms of payment.

I like going out there so much I bought an OU gun to shoot clays out there.
