i got a new car almost 3 weeks ago, it came with 6 months of sirius service (included in the car price).

is there a way to look in the radio for whatever code I would need to have to activate a portable sirius radio if i wanted to do so?

i think you would have to pay the $5 extra or whatever it is

[Edited on August 15, 2007 at 11:29 AM. Reason : personally, i would buy the lifetime subscription if you like it]

Don't buy the lifetime sub. for that car unless you plan on keeping the car for a lifetime.

"Lifetime" means "for the life of that particular receiver," not your lifetime. In other words, you can't transfer your "lifetime subscription" to a new Sirius receiver should you buy one.

yeppers

basically, if you keep the car for 3.5 years you'll break even with a lifetime subscription compared to month-to-month, and every time you transfer your break-even point increases by 6 months

So $75 for an outsourced third world operator to type in the new serial number and delete the old one?

Wow, wasn't aware of that fee...still a horrible deal.

Sirius not only has a horrible lineup IMO, the sound quality is just lacking. The difference in low-end between Sirius and a CD/MP3 is very noticeable to me

how is a 3.5 year breakeven point a terrible deal? lot better than paying 13/mo for the rest of your life.

[Edited on August 15, 2007 at 10:26 PM. Reason : im at the 2.5 year mark on mine, but mine isnt cemented into my car.]
