still gimp. more established. doesn't use .net

but paint.net is still an acceptable alternative

paint.net is a lot easier to use, for what little photo manipulation i need to do...so it gets my vote.

yeah, that's true. paint.net is probably simpler and easier to use for people who don't need more advanced features.

Use GimpShop if you want the Adobe Photoshop look/feel.

i like gimp. does everything i need and more

never tried paint.net, dont have any desire to try it either.
