Lately, they have been losing.

Did you hear how much of a success Vista have been?

Or did you hear that Apple's laptop market share is more than 15% now...consider now that they make money on hardware as well as software.

Did you hear that Microsoft reneged on Vista virtualization simply because people are more interested in using Windows on their Macs. The CEO of Intel uses a Mac at work with virtualized Windows for enterprise stuff.

I mean don't get me wrong...Microsoft has top of the line dev tools (second only to Java/Eclipse), but they suck at interfaces.

I am a fan of Visual C# and XNA.

you can't compare a wii to an xbox, the price points makes them not even comparable. you think if the wii cost 400, do you really think that it would b doing (relatively) better than the 360? yeah the zune is not bad at all, its just that the ipod is more popular because it has been out for a while.

i wouldnt say the 360 is a consumer market failure. unfortunate rush on the hardware cost them a bit, but it is doing well.

I think Nintendo is doing well, not just because of price, but also because of the fresh paradigm of playing games. Most people are spending close to 360 prices to get them on ebay.

supply issues. A lot of people buying Wii's already have Xbox360's and the Xbox has been out longer then the PS3 and Wii so there is no reason why Xbox's would still be selling strong. The point is, their software and accessories should show strong sales. People buy Wii's because its different and its fun to play Wii sports....

As was discussed in the thread. Wii is doing a great job of attracting people who would normally never own a console or any gaming of any kind because its fun for the whole family and friends. Thats not going to last forever unless they start developing something other then 'wii sports' thats just as fun for everyone.

bottom line is the Xbox 360 kicks the Wii and PS3's ass as far as my entertainment goes and thats the absolute bottom line that matters to me. I've played a Wii and it was all fun and games....but I cannot see myself playing it alone...and most games i enjoy playing are either single player or online

well yeah, but thats cuz cube was cheaper and still came in dead last. while we is doing excellent, i wouldnt say it is "kicking 360's ass." i also own both.

I never bought a Newton. In fact, my iPod is 2nd Generation. Five years later, it's still running on the original battery.

As for the Wii, it has a lot more than the sports game. Super Smash Brothers Brawl will be a huge seller and crowd pleaser, and don't forget the virtual console. I like companies that innovate, and it has nothing to do with a status symbol. I've always liked Apple and Nintendo products, but it's not based on blind allegiance. It's based on my own user experience.

personally i'm not into the whole nintendo thing. Never got into any of the mario games...Kart or not. Also alot of the Nintendo games just don't do it for me. (I'm referring to the Nintendo only games) The only Nintendo I ever owned in my whole life of gaming was the N64 and it was only to play Golden Eye lol.

I think the Xbox360 is very innovative and exactly what i've been looking for. Now all I have setup downstairs is an Xbox 360 elite + HD DVD player attachment and a Denon surround sound receiver and I get a really good media + gaming experience that I can't have with any other console. I don't have cable or Satelite so all my tv shows are streamed in HD from my PC upstairs to the xbox through the wireless network so i can watch them on the big screen commercial free. Again, can't do that with a different console. Also, i don't use netflix OR blockbuster so whenever I rent a movie I just use the marketplace and download movies. ITs easy, its fairly quick (for HD content at least) and its cheap. Plus its as easy as ordering Papajohns online for delivery.

Not saying its for everyone because everyone has different interests. But thats why I chose the Xbox 360 over any other console....not because i'm a MS fanboy
