ugly. too much stuff going on in front

wow... i would hate to have your perception
that barely looks like an mb or a legacy gt
i don't like its high window line thing its a new trend that dodge started just cause the charger/ 300c sold a few cars. people, it looks good on them... but even a red head can be hot from time to time this does not mean all girls should go red. i do like the rear end astonishness though 8/29/2007 12:14:53 PM |

I love Jag. I dont like thhe grill on the XF, however. The XK to me is one of the most beautiful cars on the road. 8/29/2007 12:22:36 PM |

^^^The roofline is like a CLS, the headlights remind me of a Subaru. But yea the rest of it looks nothing like a CLS, which is fucking obvious. 8/29/2007 5:23:31 PM |

The car is beautiful, but since those headlights are found on some Kia/Hyundai, I can't get that association out of my head, and that just cheapens the car in my opinion.
And yes, that high door window line looks a bit overbearing and bulky. Actually, it lends bulkiness to the car. 8/29/2007 5:28:25 PM |

From the front wheels back it's fine, but that nose treatment is heinous.
And for the record I really like the XK8/R... 8/29/2007 5:39:19 PM |

^ exactly.
in the pics in the 1st post, most people can look at the 2nd pic and say wow that is nice, but when you look at the 1st pic, there is something just not right about it in the nose/grill/headlights area. 8/29/2007 5:47:06 PM |

Buick on the front w/Subaru headlights no question. and the back lights are trying to look like an Aston Martin. 8/29/2007 9:01:25 PM |

Pretty sad that a company that has a car in the NY Museum of Modern Art could make something so disgusting. The KX 120, KX 150, KXE, XKSS, D-Type, XJ13 and XKSS are some of the prettiest cars ever designed.
That is like a fat buick shaped silver terd. 8/31/2007 9:02:22 PM |

^or the best looking fresh jag design in years
I will miss the XJ when it goes because that thing is TIMELESS... in another decade, someone will put up a pic of a group test with an Audi a8, a BMW 7 series, a MB S600, and a Jag XJR, and there's not a moment of hesitation in my mind that the Jag will appear the most graceful. Currently, I'm on the a8 bandwagon, but then I really liked the previous a8 too, and that looks turdly to me today by comparison. My favorite version of the XJ was the pre-v8 supercharged inline-6 XJR in either cranberry red, smurf blue, or black, with the polished-face pentagon wheels. HOTTT
The previous xk had nearly as much staying power. The current Xk is prettier from a "aston martin is the highest form of coupe-dom" point of view, but I still think a metallic gray '04 (before the '05's lower body cladding) XKR with detroit wheels was the height of luxury coupe styling.
Anyone who thinks either XK isn't relatively gorgeous compared to the mainstream hasn't seen one in a while.
The S-type only looked good in the latest R-type clothing, and the X-type has always been blasphemy.
Jags are damn fine looking cars, even without looking to any classics or exotics or concepts that never were. "." (period)
Second only to TVR? nah.
[Edited on September 4, 2007 at 3:50 PM. Reason : and the xf is already prettier than the S-type and has the right proportions. Check out the overhang] 9/4/2007 3:48:03 PM |

ok...from that angle the Jag family lineage is a LOT more apparent. And the grille isn't as offensive, either, though it still looks similar to a Buick Lucerne simply from size/shape and emblem placement. But those headlights still ruin the design...damn. 9/4/2007 10:57:53 PM |

Nah, it seems to be a fairly masculine sports car. Though on paper I'm not really impressed for a sports car. It's too heavy, isn't available with a manual transmission (or dual clutch box) and only comes with floating caliper brakes (which is a pretty shameful cost cutting measure to be found on a sports car costing upwards of $70k).
