good thing, though, that we don't need to do that.

Hummus is awesome.

I've got the Wellspring hummus recipe from when I worked there.

If 4 different people in this thread ask for it, I post it.

It's good.

I'm asking for it!

Seriously, though, part of why I'm asking is because I wanna know whether mine's better or not.

The only hummus i've had that's better is eahanhan's dad's hummus. My hummus used to never be so tasty, but now...it's comparable to his. That's not to say I no longer try to mooch it

I always assumed that hummus was healthy. I did not realize how wrong I was until today when I actually read the nutritional info on a container. It just makes me more glad that I've never tried that nasty looking paste.

^?

The "worst" part of it (homemade, at least) is tahini. I wouldn't exactly call that bad for you, and it's not as though hummus is laden with it.

There is also no point at all in comparing commercially produced foods meant for storage and transport with the homemade stuff. Would you consider a loaf of regular white bread at the store to be comparable with a loaf of homemade white bread?

Either you weren't looking at hummus, or you are food-health-illiterate

hummus is very nutritious

and not unhealthy in any way

(unless you're allergic or something....)

(you do know the difference between good fat and bad fat, right?)

that being said, one doesn't eat gallons of anything without health issues arising
IOW, any nutritious healthy food can be overconsumed.

BTW, I'm looking for the Wellspring recipe, it's not with my others
here's a hint though:

freshly toasted and ground coriander seeds
tamari

hummus by itself isn't unhealthy, but hummus on pita bread is a horrible concept for a meal/snack. high amounts of fat and carbohydrates should not be consumed together.

i have not heard that before. i *have* heard other similar advice concerning which foods/food groups can be or can't be mixed together.

what's the logic behind it? btw, hummus doesn't have to be high in fat. depends on how it is made.

ak mak?

Oh man, emily...matt noticed quality street at neomonde! Since it's got arabic on it, I'm going to hazard a guess that it's not the shitty canadian-sourced QS available most places...I'm gonna get some this weekend, and we'll find out

And, I got this batch much finer, and I decided to put a WHOLE lot of lemon juice in it. I wanted it less like your dad's, and more like neomonde's this time.

Ak Maks are yummy crunchy sesame crackers. They have good fiber and protein in then. I'd be very surprised if Neomonde's didn't have them.

GG on the Quality Street finds. I have lots of memories of those tins of brightly wrapped chocolates, and trying to remember what each color was.

Sometimes I do like a 'looser' hummus - a lot of my aunts make it more like that.
