I am disputing with a friend about what is considered a touch down. I always believed that, as long as the player's foot never touched out of bounds, a touchdown can be scored even if the ball appears 'out of bounds'. Basically, that the goal line goes 'around the world' and you can go at any angle, towards the crowd even, to make the touchdown. He says that you have to keep the ball over the endzone or else it wont count.

Alright, I agree with him now. I always thought the plane extended, didn't think about it being a box.
Thanks!

What do you think if someone was making a run for the endzone and was going out of bounds but managed to break the plane with the football. Like, they reached with an arm and the football into the endzone but their body went out of bounds? Does that count? 9/2/2007 7:10:58 AM |

yes, as long as the ball breaks the plane before the player steps out of bounds. 9/2/2007 7:20:51 AM |
