sorry i havent posted in a while dont know if yu all remember me im mostly from the ESPN boards where I have over 100,000 posts.
I am guessing big time defeat for federer who is getting way overrated like being compared to Sampras and even Tiger Woods. He is good but he is doing good in the weakest era of tennis. Also, I feel like Roddick is really improving fast with courier and should be able to take this with his serve we saw how much trouble isner and lopez caused with their serves which pale to roddick.
Post your predictions and we'll see who is right at the end! THANKS 9/4/2007 11:46:05 PM |

I know you said "he's good" but thats not giving him enough credit. He's been to 9 straight slam finals!! No one in this era has been to more than 4 straight.
Respect Federer. Roddick does, as he's 1-12 against him.9/4/2007 11:52:34 PM |

I agree that roddick is improving, i do not agree that this is the weakest era in tennis, just everyone else is overshadowed by one of the greatest players to play the game. Federer will beat roddick if nothing else but because Roddick will not play aggressive. He always(against federer) drops back and plays defense 5 feet behind the baseline. Also Federer has better shot selection than anyone else on tour and that is why he has been to 9 straight finals. Andy has the game to beat him, but roger will pick the right shot more often and roger also has him beat in foot speed. it will be a good match and i will watch it but Roger will win in 4 sets. 9/5/2007 12:00:32 AM |

My money is on Federer. I've yet to see Roddick play quality Tennis. He spends all his time hiding behind his serve and cross-court forehand. Every time he faces a players who can return those shots he loses. 9/5/2007 12:05:45 AM |

I love late nights at the US Open. Gotta love all the rowdy New Yorker's being courtside... I'd like it more though if Nadal pulls this match out.. 9/5/2007 12:05:54 AM |

Umm don't know if this part was a joke or not but he dominates tennis more than Tiger does golf. Look at the majors and wins in general. And unlike Tiger, Roger actually has a great player that can beat him heads up playing against him in Nadal.9/5/2007 12:27:29 AM |

jim courier is a commentator on USA. jimmy connors is roddick's coach.
roddick winning his serve isn't the issue...him trying to break federer's serve is gonna be his problem.
also, this thread is stupid.9/5/2007 8:52:30 AM |

what does that say about roddick then? btw anybody have to do a double take since roddick has now had TWO OPPONENTS FORFEIT THE MATCH against him? are mike vick, tim donaghy and wayne gretzky's wife betting the farm on roddick to win or something?9/5/2007 10:20:28 AM |

this is some of the dumbest analysis i've seen on here. roddick may win this match, but it won't be because federer is bad. it would only be if roddick is having a great night and federer is not up to his full game. 9/5/2007 10:31:23 AM |

This just doesn't happen. Federer rarely loses, and if does it's in the final. He is between a 1/14 and 1/25 favorite and is 13-1 in his career against Roddick. I'll play the odds and say Federer wins in 4 sets.9/5/2007 10:58:06 AM |

This thread is retarded. Federer is arguably the greatest tennis player ever. He deserves comparison to Sampras and any other past tennis great. Roddick will get his ass handed to him although I will be rooting for him to win because he's an American. 9/5/2007 12:16:39 PM |

Federer:
Wimbledon Champion: 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007
US Open Champion:
2004 2005 2006 and probably 2007
Australian Open Champion:
2004 2006 2007
French Open Runner-Up:
2006 2007
That's 11 of the past 17 grand slam singles titles and 7 of the past 9. Not overrated. Anyone who says otherwise is a clown. That said, I hope Roddick pulls one out of his hind parts on this one. 9/5/2007 6:32:09 PM |
