After last year's 10-6 season, the Jets look to build on their surprising success. Can they do it? Can Chad Pennington stay healthy all season? Will the youngster, Kellen Clemens eventually take the starting job? Can Thomas Jones turn the running game around? And for us State fans, will J-Co become a star this year? We'll find out a lot about this team in week 1 against New England.
J-E-T-S, JETS! JETS! JETS!

Well, this week could be a little trouble on the corners, which isn't good. Miller and Dyson aren't 100%. Add in Darrelle Revis long holdout, and the corners may have their work cut out for them. The pass rush was fairly quiet in the preseason, but maybe Mangini was holding them for the season. I'd really like for Vilma to be switched to OLB. They drafted David Harris in the 2nd round, so maybe that will be step 1 in moving him outside. I wouldn't call them exceptional, but not terrible. Instead, they're probably middle of the road.
V Fireman Ed will eventually make an appearance, I'm sure.

I believe the game could have qualified for the Carl face, but we'll let everyone decide on that one. It doesn't get any easier...up next is Baltimore. And yeah, I was disappointed in the reaction of the crowd when Pennington went down. 9/10/2007 12:34:40 AM |

I'm defending the guy. The man goes down, tries to get up on his own, and is in obvious pain, and the crowd cheers. Would I like to see Clemens get some action? I would. But I don't want it to be like this, and I just wish the fans wouldn't have gone off like that. I gotta give it up to him though, he came back in on the next series. He's tough, but unfortunately, toughness doesn't always equal victories, or apparently fan appreciation. 9/10/2007 12:55:09 AM |

Quote : | "NFL security confiscated a video camera and its tape from a New England Patriots employee on the team's sideline during Sunday's game against the Jets in a suspected spying incident, sources said.
The camera and its tape were placed in a sealed box and forwarded to the league office for investigation, the sources said.
"We don't have any comment," an NFL spokesman said Monday.
The Patriots' cameraman was suspected of aiming his camera at the Jets' defensive coaches who were sending signals to their unit on the field, the sources said. The league also is investigating some radio frequency issues that occurred during the game.
The league's competition committee could conduct a conference call about the incident, which violates NFL policy, and ultimately recommend a penalty that could cost the Patriots a future draft pick or picks if it verifies that the team was spying on the Jets.
It's not their first time.
-- A member of the NFL's competition committee
"It's not their first time," a member of the committee, who did not wish to be identified, said.
In fact, Green Bay Packers president Bob Harlan confirmed a similar incident that occurred when the Patriots played at Lambeau Field last Nov. 19. The same cameraman who was questioned by NFL security on Sunday was also the one whom the Packers removed from the sideline and escorted from the field during their 2006 game, according to Packers security official Doug Collins.
"From what I can remember, he had quite a fit when we took him out," Harlan said. "We had gotten word before the game that they [the Patriots] did this sort of thing, so we were looking for it."
A Jets official declined comment Monday, directing an inquiry to the league office. The Patriots also did not have immediate comment." |

Defense lost this game, along with the horrible showing by the o-line.
Flat out, Mangini has got to get these players ready next week. He needs to slap his coaching staff in the head, and he needs to get everyone to forget Week 1. Its not like the Jets were favored.
0-1 isn't the end of the world. Hell Pennington did better than our boy Rivers this week.
Baltimore going to be tough. And I was supposed to go to that game too, which sucks. Alas hopefully it'll be the main 4pm game on CBS. 9/10/2007 6:13:01 PM |

^^I hope you're right about it being the big game on CBS, but I'm sure it won't. We had Dolphins/Redskins last week. Maybe Ray Lewis will rest his tricep. And let's be honest: the Pats didn't need anyone filming the Jets signals on Sunday. 9/11/2007 8:34:56 AM |

^^Well, for his 1st game, I thought Clemens did ok. It wouldn't hurt if Justin McCareins could catch a fucking pass. I've been tired of him for a long time. It's time to let him go. 9/16/2007 8:10:19 PM |

yeah, if the Jets can get to 2-2 and 2-1 in the division after playing NE and Baltimore, that won't be too shabby
though the schedule after that gets a little problematic...ten wins seems to be the max on that schedule 9/24/2007 12:20:00 PM |

So let's sum up my weekend...My old high school football team lost to our rivals, the Mets choke, Jets lose (to fucking Buffalo), Panthers lose, soccer team that I coach loses (my 1st loss in 3 years), State loses, and I have had a migraine all day. Yeah, fun stuff. Up next, the Giants. 10/1/2007 12:33:28 AM |

Well, the Kellen Clemens era starts today against the Skins. Coles is looking doubtful, so it could be J-Co's time to shine. Then again, knowing how this season has gone, he'll tear his ACL.
But hey, we're still better than Miami. 11/4/2007 10:50:22 AM |
