Nope. The notary will attach whatever they need to notarize it. 9/6/2007 1:16:10 PM |

^ no.
It is the responsibility of the maker of the document to attach the correct notary certificate. A notary cannot even help you decide which certificate to use. 9/6/2007 3:48:11 PM |

if you want to do the notary a favor do this:
Sworn to and subscribed before me this ___________ day of ________, 2007
_____________________________________ Notary Public
My commission expires_______________________
Also, don't sign your name to the document until you are in front of the notary. 9/6/2007 4:06:47 PM |

it isn't doing the notary a favor. that is not their job. it is the document maker's or their attorney's responsibility.
also, ^ is incorrect for the type of document that needs to be notarized. you also need to include the state and county. do yourself a favor and go to the secretary of state's webpage for help! 9/6/2007 4:15:37 PM |

But he can write his letter any way he wants, it doesnt matter what we notarize just if the sigatures are correct. Also it is not always the writers responsibility to provide that statement, why else would they sell stamps that have that printed on them? 9/6/2007 4:51:41 PM |

oh yes, the letter can be written anyway he wants, the notary certificate just has to be correct.
According to the 2007 notary guidebook & the secretary of state's website, only the document maker can prepare the notary affidavit or acknowledgment or whatever the doc needs.
A notary public is not authorized to give legal advice (help choose or prepare a notary certificate for another person), but CAN give a list of certificate forms for the person to choose from N.C.G.S. 10B-20(m)
as to the stamps, I am lost as to why they sell these...maybe for use in attorneys offices when the certificate was left off the doc? 9/6/2007 5:15:21 PM |
