wow i just realized that right now there are 8-12 players in different sports that can be considered the best ever at their sport or position

list

roger federer, best ever tennis player
a rod, best baseball player
tiger woods, best golfer
LT, best running back
peyton, best QB
jeff gordon, best nascar driver
the list can go on and on...

this can be considered the golden age of sports,

I agree with Federer, Peyton and Tiger (or at least they will be baring some weird injury), but the rest have a ways to go

^Peyton will own every meaningful QB record by far by the time he retires (and he said QB, not football player)

People said the same thing in the 90s:

Dale Earnhardt
Michael Jordan
Pete Sampras
Barry Sanders
Dan Marino
Barry Bonds

Each generation has its stars and you cannot compare past to present

maybe he will, maybe he'll break his neck sunday and never play again

you can't say he's the best yet

montana and marino still own him

advances in technology, nutrition, science and even the games themselves have all helped the current athletes become what they were.

id love to see some of the old guys play todays game

naaaah

alot of the games have remained the same

pitchers still pitch alot the same, golf is still a competition individually not team reliant, football you have the invention of the spread offense and such.

im saying the art of pitching has not changed over the years.

There hasnt really been any changes like there has been in other sports
so comparing new and old is actually not that hard in some of the sports such as baseball, track and field, wrestling/boxing, even basketball.
