1/2 TD/INT ratio. Mark it. Not his fault, though. 9/11/2007 3:54:36 PM |

there is no way this guy is going to contribute 60 million worth...Calvin Johnson is the only person in the last SEVERAL years to warrant that kind of money for a draft pick. but such is the NFL i guess 9/11/2007 10:38:03 PM |

Enough of the Calvin Johnson dickriding. He's great and all, but he's a fucking receiver. He'll never be worth as much to a team as a decent QB. 9/11/2007 10:40:44 PM |

Seriously, he could be the greatest receiver ever within 2 years, and he still wouldn't deserve a 60 million dollar rookie contract.
In fact, no one deserves a 60 million dollar rookie contract. If I had the first pick I would definitely trade it, because the amount of money these kids are demanding these days is getting ridiculous. 9/11/2007 11:12:50 PM |

that's it really. i read that the guaranteed money Russell is getting breaks the month long record held by Calvin Johnson, which broke the record held by Mario Williams. it's just insane that kids are getting this much money without having taken one snap in the NFL9/11/2007 11:38:42 PM |

The 31 is the only number that matters folks, NFL contracts are not guaranteed. And 31, my goodness, what was he wanting to begin with , 35? Obviously, the 31 is a compromised number from both parties, so these months of negotiating let me know he wanted substantially more than 31 guaranteed, and he ain't worth it.
Oh, and if you could give me a Rice, Monk, etc., I'd much rather take them before any QB besides Manning and Brady in the NFL today, and Johnson has the most potential of any receiver in a long long time.
