At least when your key objects are large Hibernate beans with several complex fields as a primary composite key.


I've sped up my processing by an order of magnitude by adopting a flyweight. Good times for all.

update:

The annotation driven JMX export feature in Spring 2.0 is f'n rocking.

I just spent like 30 minutes putting a simple JMX bean in front of all of my caches for this project and now I can refresh and flush them on a whim.
