Louisville (2-2, 0-1)
vs
NC State (1-3, 0-2)

Louisville will be coming into Raleigh on Saturday off of a second straight loss, the second loss coming from an 0-3 Syracuse. They will have plenty of heat on them to come in and win. NC State hopes to try to continue their losing streak. To do so, NC State will have to find some defense, and a lot of it. Louisville is currently averaging 50 points a game in their first 4 games (Given the first two games were cupcakes). NC State will also have to find some offense if they plan on keeping it even respectable. Hopefully O'Brien comes up with something this week. Go State.

Louisville schedule to date:
DATE OPPONENT RESULT/TIME
08/30 Murray St W 73-10
09/06 M Tenn St W 58-42
09/15 at Kentucky L 40-34
09/22 Syracuse L 38-35

Louisville statistical leaders:
QB #12 Brian Brohm - 114/168 (68%) - 1697 yds - 15 TD
RB #42 Anthony Allen - 78 car - 493 yds - 6.3 avg - 5 TD
WR #85 Harry Douglas - 38 rec - 679 yds - 17.9 avg - 5 TD

TV: ESPNU

Saturday, September 29th, 2007 - 3:30pm - Carter-Finley Stadium, Raleigh, NC

Go Wolfpack.

Clemson defense > Louisville defense.

I predict at least 24 NCSU points. But we'll still get demolished.

I might be more open to an upset if they hadn't lost to Kentucky also...but there's no way they're losing 3 in a row

I wish we still had Rivers and we could duke it out with them....then it would be first to 60!

Seriously they are going to score tons on our D. We can't stop the run or the pass. And we don't force any turnovers at all.

55-48 good guys

my two brothers are in attendance for the biggest NCSU offensive output since 2003. the one at UNCW transfers here from all the excitement, and the one in high school goes ahead and applies for early admission. all is right in the world.

then i wake up, and we're down 35-10 in the 2nd quarter

this one could get real ugly, and thats after accounting for louisville's lack of D.

I say we don't even send a defense out there. Brohm is going to burn our secondary and score regardless. I say we just go for the highest scoring game in ncaa history. I believe louisville's D is worse than our o-line so I think we got a chance to make it a shootout.

The ClemPson game was disappointing. I was expecting more improvement especially on D now that Pressley is back. But I'm still holding out hope. Maybe they'll pick up the man blocking scheme and the zone D this week in practice.

Who knows. We kept Matt Ryan to pedestrian numbers.

Go Pack!

you seriously believe that State's D can hold L'ville to a field goal?

State's D will be lucky to keep them below 50...

52-35 L'ville

L'ville wont lose 3 in a row.

I'm still waiting for this fucking zone coverage scheme we're running to yield any kind of positive result. So far other team's have been able to pass at will. Even a team like Clemson who emphasizes the run was able to find wide open receivers, and I've yet to see an increase in interceptions this coverage scheme was supposed to produce.

I realize our run defense or lack thereof plays a part in our passing defense being strained. If we have to devote more guys to stopping the run it stands to reason it will be harder to stop the pass. But I'm wondering if in our case its not the other way around. Teams know our zone coverage hasn't been terribly hard to pass on, so they feel free to pass and when we do more to stop it, they run all over us.

Either way Brohm is going to kill us next week.

We've had plenty of opportunities for them, but our secondary either can't catch or greases up their hands before the game.

^well, if that's really the case, they should go back to man coverage where they try to jam the receiver at the line of scrimmage and then stay with him step for step so they can knock the pass away at the last minute. If we aren't going to have to pick some of those passes, we need to get back to blitzing/pressuring the quarterback and playing bump and run with the receivers.

Brohm throws for 741 yards and seven touchdowns.

Louisville wins 75-60 because neither team knows how to play adequate defense.

We couldn't score that much even if the opposing defense didn't take the field.

What I posted in a different thread on Sat night:

Quote :
"
Louisville: 68
State: 20

Brohm with 600+ yards because we have zero pass rush and we only score because Blackman gets 12 kick off return opportunities.

Louisville's defense is horrible, but we will still have trouble moving the ball = bullshit

i guess i didn't really make a prediction

UL - 55
Us - 27

We break the 24 pt barrier in the 4th quarter as lewieville eases up. Brohm is on the bench for at least 1/2 of the 4th quarter.

The Southern Fried Football Tour and The Packman will be in town for the Louisville game. Those that are fortunate enough to be able to go to the game better represent. Tailgate with reckless abandon, but stay classy. And ladies you all better be on point b/c they take pics of the girls on their go kart. I think they give you some free stuff iirc. The Monday afterwards they usually talk on the radio here in Charlotte about the experience they had. They have already been to ECU for the UNC game, so let's show them where the Tailgating Capital of NC is. Show them that win or lose we still booze. Get Drunk! Go State!

42-7 at halftime.
final depends on how much they run up the score and if they put in the second string defense.

but I'm guessing after Saturday's performance, they're gonna run it up
