RE: Drifting. Yes, it’s a ton of fun. I’m not AS excited by it as a track event, but it is tons of fun none the less.

RE: Not getting harassed by cops. He drives quite sane (a lot more so than myself) on the street, but I don’t get harassed by cops even when I drive juvenile looking cars with big wings and whatnot... I’m sure being white doesn’t hurt, and I wish I was joking when I said that.

Track Night in America, b7 the SCCA.

Not a bad concept. Starts at 4pm on a weeknight and you get 3 20 minute sessions for $150.

Of course if you live around Raleigh this does no good, as the closest participating track is in Atlanta

AMP is also not a hugely safe track, either. pit out is right where you setup for a blind turn at the end of the front straight

Thanks man, it was a blast and a half. I got to drive around 3 hours on track I think. My student left early on Tuesday, then basically 3/4th of the participants followed suit (rain), so tons and tons of track time was availz. I may upload more vid from rain if I get a chance.

This was my 2nd session of the day (5 total) and the last one for which I had an instructor. First time at this track. Cornering speeds were limited somewhat by old front tires.

Wish my go-pro didn't focus on the interior; couldn't see anything through the windshield

Was a fun event. Track conditions were favorable, very smooth, easy to learn layout (CW rotation). It was fun figuring out the lines that worked best for the vette; car has a lot of grip which was to be expected... Had a great instructor. Got to ride in my instructor's 964 C4. Oooh what a car...



I'm thinking about PCA event in November at VIR... Would love to get my hands on new tires, bucket seat, and 4/5 point harness by then. We'll see.
