^^ yeah, I remember an episode where there were some kids on the beach that stumbled upon a buried K.A.R.R. They just dug it out and it was as good as new.

Of course this was years ago, so my memory is hazy.

but man, the writing was just so bland and Mike Tracer was about as interesting as my socks.

Thought the show/movie was kind of boring, and the writing was pretty soft. But I did enjoy KITT and was into what the new car had to offer. I would be willing to give the show a try, so sick of reality TV and game shows, and fuck Gladiators...Knight Rider can probably make it for a few seasons, so long as the writing is picked up...and a bit more HOFF.

Would love to know what they did with the Original Kitt...bring back CARR for a few episodes. Just make sure they don't "copy" old story lines.

i caught a couple minutes here and there as i flipped by it, but didn't catch any of the story or writing or anything. couple thoughts
1) the car does look pretty cool, actually
2) KITTs voice sucks. They purposefully made it roboty-sounding, like a bad computer synthesizer. I thought it was nice that the original KITT actually sounded human
3) some of the CGI sucked. One scene where the camera pulled back into the sky as KITT was driving through the desert - the car looked horrible. It was like they took a panoramic of the desert and photoshopped a matchbox car on it. Then a scene when they entered las vegas and the camera traveled up the edge of the car and into the driver window - that again was terrible. It was so obvious that the entire car was computer animated - no realism to it at all

^at the beginning they were going through the old guys garage. It def. had parts of the original KITT. The hood was hanging up and the stearing wheel was also there. I think its still in the garage. Another car was under a sheet.

I registered to win my own KITT four times during the show last night.

By this time next year, I fully expect to be driving around in my Shelby.


As far as the show, it was sufficiently cheesy. Going into this show, you have to know that it's not going to be "good" in the traditional sense of the word.

I remember liking the original a lot more, but then I was like 5 or 6 then, so anything was good where there was a fast car that could launch missiles and jump without a ramp involved.

Hell, I remember thinking that Streethawk was probably the best show ever written but if I were to watch it now, it would be stunningly bad.

I couldnt watch it for long...

The voice didnt even 'appear' to come from the car. Sounded like a hidef voice over. It needed to sound like the sound was coming from some speakers in the car to make it believeable. Just felt silly.

Yeah I knew it was off some how, but you've hit it. Well that and the aforementioned digitization of the voice made it terrible. It sounded like it was a voice in that lady's head (I only watched the part where she was being driven around by the car) I was kinda hoping for a fightclub type reveal where we find out KITT is just another part of her personality and she's really driving around talking to herself.

Also, I couldn't help but be disappointed the whole time trying to imagine Will Arnet's voice.

Me: It sounds like Val phoned it in on this one.

I turned the channel to NBC to watch this series

Then I found out it was a made-for-TV movie

Then after a few more minutes, I realized the entire show was just a 2 hour Ford commercial

i know actors get paid and for the most part probably believe in what they are doing... but i have a hard time believing when they screened the final cut of this "movie" they thought this was a good effort. i would hate to have my name on the credits.


honestly the best part was the last 15 minutes. I got really hyped up when the Hoff showed up and then when they were all in the hanger getting ready to deploy for the mission. New hoff had the leather jacket on, the theme music was rolling, it was as close to the original they got. That actually made me want to "tune in next week".

the new mustang is retro kitt is supposed to look futuristic... it just doesn't work well at all.
