I love Evil Dead, and I've also got personal connections to the movie - one of my relatives was an extra as a soldier at the end of the movie. I've also been to the cabin that they filmed it in, as well the basement (which was actually a school). They used a lot of foam for that cabin, lol.....and it's right by the Color Purple House just in the woods. It might still be there! All of that was in Wadesboro, NC which is where I'm from. It's a shit little town near Rockingham.

I looked up this in IMDB and I'm not happy with it. I think Sam Raimi is really stupid remaking this...check this out:

IMDB: Who will be the new Ash?
Simply put, no one. Sam Raimi has said he has no intent of including Ash in the re-make. The Ash character has too much of fan base that believe only 1 man can play him. So Sam has decided not to include this character in the film at all.

Why call it Evil Dead then? That's like calling a movie about large robots "Transformers" simply because they are large robots.

Um it isn't just the Ash character it is the entire Evil Dead series. Evil Dead without Ash is like Die Hard without John McClane or Rocky without Rocky Balboa.

nah, like the first 20-30 minutes of ED2 were a remake of the original, after that it progresses the story.

i like the series but it doesn't bother me that they want to do a remake.
As long as its Sam Raimi writing/directing, it'll be good.
