^^YES!

actually, no, not really--back in high school we got to pick our "spanish name" for class, if you were gonna pick now, what would your spanish name be?

The closest my high school spanish teacher could think of to "Ian" was "Ivan"

Unfortunately, the Spanish pronounciation of Ivan is more or less "Yvonne"

I did not find this as hillarious as did my classmates over the course of the FOUR FUCKING YEARS I had to use that name in class

hahahahah. obviously didn't get to far in spanish did you? "Sería" is a future conditional form of the verb "ser."

My name was Slavelle (rhymes with Latrell) but everyone calls me Slave so in Spanish class I was Esclavo.

Had a nice ring to it.

Well my name was Slavelle up till I was 16 when I changed it.

But all my friends and everyone I knew just called me Slave.

I changed it because I want to go into business and wanted less of a stereotypical black name for my future prospects.

But most people still call me Slave.

Its cool most of the time, but white people always hesitate to call me that even after I tell them its OK lol.

Jorge was always an uncomfortable name to say in spanish.

I had picked Venus, pronounced bay-noose.
