why the hell isn't there more discussion on this?

i have been waiting for this for the last 2 months. all day i have just been thinking about is what dunk gavin is going to unveil this year. hopefully he shows us a glimpse tonight of the dunk he plans to use on carolina. i'd like to see him try a windmill.

i'm also REALLY looking forward to seeing hickson playing in person. he's a potential rookie of the year and should be exciting to watch.

That was a good time, nothing hugely exciting, got to see the teams warm up and a hot shot contest, 3 pt contest, which Fells won with like 20 buckets, (the men's team won by like one 3 I think) and some other stuff. But Hickson is a fucking beast and McCauley, Costner, Fells are still looking damn good. I'm so fired up about basketball season right now...

Plus I got a poster signed by Dennis Horner, Ben McCauley, Gavin Grant, Courtney Fells, J.J. Hickson, Johnny Thomas, Farnold Degand, Chad Williams, Javi Gonzalez, and Marques Johnson.

Pretty fuckin awesome...

Oh yeah and I asked Javi about his thumb, he said it was getting better and that he could take the cast off pretty soon, (in a few days I think) so that's good.

This was very fun to be a part of.

Observations:
- We looked like a very happy loose team (i know there was no pressure, but they were constantly goofing around, i.e. Costner jacking his shorts up to his numbers durring shoot around and Costner wearing a red/white wig in 3-pt contest)
- We are very athletic (our boys can jump. Hickson is HUGE! his dunks were sick. Overall everyone was showing some very nice jumping abilities)
- Sid is aiming very high and is confident (he was sporting his ring, talked to the crowd and hyped us up, and welcomed everyone to come to the RBC center to watch us beat UNC this year)
- Hickson can do everything!!!! He was by far the most impressive and entertaining dunker, but what impressed me was the HOT SHOT contest, where i think he actually got high score amung everyone. He nailed a 3 pointer at the buzzer - clutch too!
- Our fans are jacked up about our team this year. Very solid turn out (on both sides of the court, we were pretty packed along the length of the court.

On that note, i got to talk to (and get autographs from) Sid and Yow

yeah he ran over and grabbed it from one of the pep band trombones right before he was supposed to start shooting, he was really having fun with it. Also it was funny when they were picking audience members to shoot in the hot shots contest Costner jumped up on the bench and was jumping up and down waving his hands in the air like he wanted to go too........was a fun time definitely

oh, and Bartoz was there too. all 7 foot whatever of him, riding the bench on this one too. can we just like... change the locks to the place or something? This guy should just leave... he's never going to play. We have too much tallent right now and he's never going to be good enough.

^^ yeah, that was funny, but in a sick morbid way. Both Ben and Costner were holding their hamstings when they were getting up. I'm sure Sid had a mild hart attack when he 1st saw it.

Hickson is NASTY

I seriously dont think anyone in the ACC will out post us this year, Travel HAnsdouche is gonna look like a middle schooler.

we have sooooo much depth its great, and they are all athletic which is even better, we were throughdown some nastyyyyy dunks tonight.

good to see that everyone seems to be able to hit the 3 as well, especially Hickson, kids amazing really...may be one of the best big men to play here since I have been here 4 years and a time before that.
The only downside, he seemed to get winded on some of the weaves and runs and sprints...hopefully we can work on his conditioning...but the kid is a freak and everyone knew it.

Basically, I really dont see us losing more than 4 games this year as long as our guard play lives up to the big men play.
