College Sports: Ron Franklin.

Too bad ESPN loves Mike Patrick's Duke/Redick groping too much to drop him from their #1 guy on football and bball.

MLB: Bob Costas. Though he is with NBC and doesn't do baseball anymore. He is probably the most knowledgable baseball guy in the business. A real baseball lifer. He gave the eulogy at Mickey Mantle's funeral.

Gary Cohen does a great job too (Mets announcer). He is a diehard fan but keeps that under wraps during the games. There are a few communications schools (most notably Syracuse) who use him for examples of the correct way to communicate in a few of their classes...

I really like Dick Enberg too. Both NFL and tennis. He's good... Jim Nantz is multi-dimensional though I don't like his NFL calls. But NCAA and golf he is great..

Best broadcasting team: Raftery, Bilas and McDonough in Maui. Year after year, they make me nearly piss my pants. Raftery and Bilas clearly drunk and McDonough egging them on. Their constant abuse of Canada during the year that UConn won (I think it was '05) was classic...

Football I still long for the days of Madden and Summerall, but I like Madden and Michaels

I despise Tony Kornheiser on MNF, if they ditched him and got a former defensive player in the NFL as an analyst to counter Jaws. If they could get Mike Golic in there it would be perfect.

though he only does pre and post game analysis, i do like tom jackson (though im sure hes not all there after spending so much time stuck beside berman for the past decade)
