what cable should i use to make a 40' run and not have alot of loss?

also any other tips would be nice too.
all of this will be in-wall setups

it's digital with a fuck load of redundancy, any cat5, cat5e, or cat6 should work

cat5e/cat6

most ethernet cable is good for 300ft before data loss

^correct, dunno why I typed cat5 in there. there's also cat7 too but it's like 802.11n.. no one really adopted it yet

5e will work for 40', cat6 is obviously preferable tho

more like i got the equipment donated and luckily a 1000' spool of cat 6 is available too thanks guys and it just so happens everything supports it and if i'm going to run network lines why run something that will need to be re- run in a few years when tech changes
