regardless, it's 100% laughable that a son of Steinbrenner would try to make a point by asking the media what would Torre be without ol George, um, just curious, would Hank even be involved with baseball if his father were anyone other than George Steinbrenner? Steinbrenner's moron kid suggested that the Yankees were a great team when Torre got there, perhaps they should sign more O'neils, Tino's, Leyritz's, etc. Guys that have leadership and can play and get hits in October, something that Arod, Abreau (what a joke), Giambi, could never display. I'd love to see this organization be forced to field a team with just half their current payroll. It would actually force those idiots to make some decisions and to get them to start thinking about what actually wins championships, and it requires more than stats.

Once the philosophy of the Gene Michaels built Yankees teams went away and Cashman had to start building on his own, they haven't won any championships. I think a lot of that had to do with Steinbrenner's win-now mentality...

Also, nothing to do with this thread, but hilarious. If you had to guess which player had the largest salary in baseball this past year who would you guess? A-Rod? Jeter? Manny? Nope. It was a part time DH named Jason Giambi...
