looks like everyone in here absolutely hates UNC.

so when do you pull for a rival that you hate?

when the ACC is on the line?
when the state of north carolina is on the line?
when you are in another state and you see them playing and they win a big game, do you act like "yeah, they are from north carolina, we are good at sports" type attitude?

i was in myrtle beach when UNC and USC were playing college world series. i had my NCSU gear on and people were asking if i was excited that a north carolina team was in the series.

i sat here for a few minutes seriously trying to find an occasion when i have cheered for UNC...

i couldn't think of a single one...

i guess when they're playing a non-conference opponent i'm slightly less disappointed if they win... but that's as close to cheering as you're gonna get out of me

easy example, (that hasnt happened yet) is... let's say in a couple years nc state football is trying to get into the acc championship game and we have 1 loss as does clemson, but they beat us so they have the tiebreaker... and they play unc in thier last game...

hypothetical situation where i would pull for UNC:

NC State basketball finishes conference with 15-1 record
Duke Basketball is 14-1 going into their last game, versus the Holes
The Holes are 5-10 and are not a threat

I would pull for UNC to beat Duke if it would mean an ACC regular season bball title outright for State

That type of situation is about the only one I can think of

I know a group of State fans who went to the game dressed all in red and cheered for the Russians.
