racing beat 3" [inlet at the flange] dual catback for 2nd gen Rx-7 turbo. just bought it for $385 shipped, used. brand new they are over $700. it is 304 stainless. this exhaust is stock style, with 3" tips so the cops won't bother me so much.

my old exhaust was a 2.5" Greddy Power Extreme, which is both too small for the turbo I am putting in (T04S, basically a T4 60-1 , .96 hotside, .70 compressor) and attracted too much attention because of the large tips. It sounded good though.

and yeah it's really dusty because it's been on stands for 6 months. first i was waiting on parts, then it's been one custom bullshit thing after another (exhaust, stainless steel fuel system, bunch of wiring, etc)

[Edited on October 24, 2007 at 11:39 AM. Reason : yeah there's more than 1 pic]

That pic of the car is showing the old exhaust right?

New one will definitely give it a cleaner look.

I also like that this seems to be something that will be a legit speedy car and not just a noise box/rattle trap.

Is this going to be one of those track rat kind of toy cars?

well, it's only going to run race gas 90% of the time. so I will drive it on the street like once a week but not too far... the old exhaust was on the car when I bought it and it just attracted too much attention. if the car backfired GIGANTIC flames would come out because of the huge canister, which is cool like the first two times and then annoying

Are you running a hi-flow cat or do you have a test pipe?

I'm debating whether or not I should pick up the dual borlas for my vr4. After I swapped the downpipe/cat with a cat/precat eliminator SS downpipe (w/ flex section), it started sounding much meaner. I think the dual cans would be overdoing it though.

^^^^ it's stupid not to run 100+ on a car that is absolutely notorious for blowing engines, especially for one I don't plan on driving a whole lot

^^ I think 3SX makes a catback that looks kinda similar to stock (bigger quad tips) that I like. that's another option.

and yes I run a straight pipe. And yes I sold my white one to a friend... I couldn't keep three cars after I bought the Q45, and as much as I love that thing shit breaks on a 20 year old vehicle and it was completely impractical as a daily driver

^ I'm running their custom downpipe. I don't think they've made a full catback, be it dual cans or quad tip. I think the one you're thinking about is also designed by IPS.

It might hold 20 to redline on this motor if i'm lucky, honestly. I would probably need a 1.15 or 1.30 hotside, as rediculous as it sounds, to hold more boost. Or a bigger turbo altogether. my stock turbo, which is similar in size to a CT-26 or 16G, held 6 to redline.

Uhhh...I have done a lot of exhaust work (yes, custom bent and installed) and have been selling auto parts for YEARS. And the "official" term is a test pipe. What we sold them as. Because that's all it's legal for.

so your going to get on the dyno and put your old pipe back on after the runs then.? no you are going to leave it on so i or jiffy lube can fail it for ncsi. its an off road pipe cause it isgonna stay there. like a race car system or something

whenever i'd talked w/ my buddy that drove a mustang he would call them h-pipes or x-pipes, depending on the design. i never once heard him say offroad pipe.

redneck white trash mustang drivers (like slowblack) call them off road H's or off road X's. the rest of us know the proper terms.

Has to be on purpose. You can't hit a space between every word in the first half of a sentence then type four consecutive words without a single space (not even a misplaced one).

WHAT??

The only person who whored in this thread was your boyfriend slowblack96 when he started spewing bullshit about what a testpipe was. This thread was going along fine until he came in here and said
Quote :
"you ri0rz and your test pipes. its an "off road pipe" you are not testing anything."

He got flamed for what he said, and he deserved it since he doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about. Not surprising to see you rushing to defend him, since thats what you're known for doing here.

I dont know who you are, but you really need GTFO of the garage and stop protecting your boyfriend who knows nothing about cars.
