^ it depends. you don't want to leave it un-maintained cause that shit looks gross, and girls (from my experience) don't like it

before i started dating my current girlfriend (who likes absolutely no hair), I kept the balls shaved and the top part about 1/2 an inch long.

the wax is pretty painful, but the results are oh so nice and oh so worth it. being completely bare down there while being with a girl who is equally as bare is fucking awesome.
