According to gopack.com, most of our basketball games this season are on some form of ESPN (1, 2, or U). I currently have cable, but I'm thinking about getting rid of it. I always seem to remember our games showing on some of the local channels that I could pick up with a regular tuner. Did things change this year, or am I just retarded and have we always been on non-local channels?
More basic question is, if I cancel my cable, will I be shit out of luck for watching State basketball games? 11/7/2007 5:28:29 PM |

are you asking if you can pick up ESPN over the air?
some games are on raycom (local channels) others are on ESPN and FSN (cable)

yes "you're just retarded"
while many of the conference games are on local channels, plenty of games are only available on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU...some games only available on PackPass
so basically, if you cancel cable, you'll still be able to watch some State games, but you'll miss out on plenty of them 11/7/2007 5:29:54 PM |

...nevermind
i got too caught in the lack of games available on local channels the first half of the season. Shit starts to open up for the second half. 11/7/2007 5:42:08 PM |

^ No, never. I didnt think they even put college sports on TV. Who would have imagined that?
I'm just torn. I don't really think 60 bucks a month is worth a game or two that could see or go to, so perhaps I'll just try to go catch the games I cant see at a bar or something.
If the tournament is on local, then i think I could deal with it. I dont know, I just go to TWW for all my advice when I'm a deadlocked decision of the utmost importance (like cable ).

you can always go to a local sports bar...hell most non sports bars with a tv in raleigh would probably play a game...but when i really really want to watch a game, nothing beats watching it at the crib on HD...cheap beer, dont have to worry about loud annoying pricks at bar, etc] 11/7/2007 5:51:09 PM |

^Too bad we only have about 2-4 games in HD a year.
Im pretty sure you can get extended basic cable (ESPN, ESPN2, FSN, but no ESPNU) for less than $60 a month. And its not like you are going to only watch "a game or two" on it, unless you absolutely dont watch TV at all for anything other than State games. 11/8/2007 10:22:51 AM |

I've got a question....
Lets say somehow we manage to get into the top 10 this year (which is possible), can our games be switched from one provider to another....so maybe more HD games? 11/8/2007 11:46:54 AM |

While were on the topic of schedules, does anyone have a link to a picture schedule for all of the ACC similar to the helmet schedule for football?
Barring that, one for just NCSU would be nice too. 11/8/2007 12:59:16 PM |

They cant move from one channel to another, but that channel may decide to shift which games are in HD and which arent or upgrade scheduled broadcasts to HD, depending on the attractiveness of the matchup as well as any logistics involved. Right now it appears the game at Michigan State will be in HD, as well as the Old Spice Classic opener versus Rider. The other two games in the OSC will be in HD assuming we are in the game broadcast on ESPN2.
FSN usually does at least one Sunday Night Hoops game in HD, but the schedule isnt announced. Raycom also said they would do "up to 4" regular season games in HD this year. My guess is one of these will be the Duke-Carolina game they get, and very possibly our game at Duke if they are sharing equipment with ESPN.
My question: The game at ECU is listed as untelevised on Gopack, but on ECUs site it as listed as being on TV on "Time-Warner Cable". Anyone happen to know where this might show up? I would hope this would be available outside of Greenville, considering this is a TWC area as well. 11/8/2007 1:45:50 PM |

Until Raycom/JP/LF or whoever gets HD feeds, we're slightly SOL...kind of shitty too...I mean none of the Raycom/JP/LF ACC football games are really HD, but we're not a football power conference...we are however a basketball power conference, you'd at least think we'd have a high def feed for games 11/8/2007 3:41:01 PM |

^^ that's probably just WITN or one of the local channels in greenville.. WITN usually does a lot of their games i think
[Edited on November 8, 2007 at 4:08 PM. Reason : i wish the ACC would dump raycom and just get an ACC network, like the BTN.. a lot of HD] 11/8/2007 4:08:09 PM |

Actually, I finally just went to the TWC website and figured it out: http://www.timewarnercable.com/NC/programming/sports/collegebasketball.html It will be on "Triangle TV", channel 24 here in Raleigh. Theyve but high school football games on this channel before...I noticed it had a listing for college basketball tomorrow night with no teams listed and was wondering what game was being shown. Its mostly ECU and Charlotte games, the only reason they have this game is because its technically a C-USA game, not an ACC game. 11/8/2007 5:03:03 PM |

I am glad that I found this thread!
I just moved to Austin, Tx, and I was wondering if you all knew of the best ways to still keep up with the team.
Is there a way to stream an audio over the internet for each game? Can it be done for free?
