or is this breaking the law just the store worker be be buy selling it to them; if an adult friend of a minor
buys an m-rated for them, would this be distributing to minor just the same as buying them alcohol; if i let my little cousin play an m-rated demo am i criminal?

its within consent of a parent. read up on ratings. they are not like alc. if your parent takes you to see a rated R movie its perfectly fine.

When I worked as a cashier, I did have to point out to the adults purchasing the games for their children that they were M-rated games and that I needed to check their ID before I could sell it. Some parents had no idea what their kid was buying and would not buy the game.

And I have to admit that I have refused to sell an M-rated game to a 14 or 15 year old who had like some 19 year old friend show their ID to me.
