so thats what the big word in Michigan is now, that Lloyd Carr has told folks he plans to retire after this season, primarily if and WHEN the buckeyes beat Michigan this year.

also Les Miles has been in talks with the Michigan staff and even has a clause in his contract specifically for Michigan.

seems bad for LSU especially at the end of the year if they make a NC run...

is the LSU job that much worse than Michigan? big 10 vs SEC I guess so, i would take the money and run...

the competition would be easier and he has recruiting ties to SEC country

miles could bring michigan back to dominating the big 10

i think it has more to do w/ miles being a um guy than it does w/ lsu job vs. michigan job.

everyone is hating on the big 10 this year (and for good reason), but lets be real, the Michigan job is about as high profile as it gets. And that's coming from a Buckeye fan.

A football season as the Michigan coach is more less stressful on a week to week basis than as the LSU coach.

In the Big 10, you play Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and then a bunch of teams who forever linger in mediocrity. Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Iowa---none of these teams is very strong on yearly basis. You have no conference title game---your season is defined by what you do in one game every year, but every year you have a very good chance of making it to that game with less than 2 losses.

In the SEC, you play Auburn, Alabama, Flordia, Tennessee, Georgia, and then a bunch of teams who anyone would take over the middle class Big 10 teams. Every week is a fucking grind. Ohio State losing at home to Illinois cut them out of the NC discussion. LSU losing to Kentucky on the road has them sitting in the drivers seat. Then you have the championship game in Atlanta, where even if you go 12-0 before that, one loss and you may not even go to a BCS bowl.

LSU is a much more challenging job, but Michigan is still more of a marquee name school nationally. If Miles can get equal or more money in Ann Arbor, he'd be a fool not to take it.

The only thing objectively better about the UM job is an easier schedule, and I suppose school ties.

LSU wins at fanbase (especially home field advantage), recruiting territory, and climate.

even though the 'Michigan' clearly let me know it was Lloyd Carr, some part of me was hoping that David Carr was retiring...and by some part, I mean every part

thats cute... fucker

wheres that fag saying les miles had it made at lsu??? cause what im seeing in this thread is smarter people realizing that "HE" realizes he would dominate the big ten with a team like the LSU one he has and thats what he should go for (just worrying about one game a year after he goes 11-0 going into the always tough buckeye battle because tressel will always have it goin on there)... oh and the small fact he coached under "THE" Bo Schembechler and it's his alma mater...

but, it doesnt happen til it happens... lets pray for it

Fanbase, how? I've never met an LSU fan. I've met tons of Michigan fans.

Recruiting Territory? Agreed, it helps when you're the only school in your state.

Climate? The weather is better in Louisiana. One reason I want to see SEC schools play at Big 10 schools in November.

^^ I've met just as many LSU fans as I have Michigan fans... but I dont think he was talking about the number of fans but more the stadium environment/crowd
